Finding out the gender

Nursery of the day: Victorian pink and black

This is a very creative looking room. Kind of reminds me of an ice cream or candy parlor in France. I love the decals/paints on the wall. Pink and black go great together. Another great idea for something different.

Nursery of the day: pink paradise

What i love about this nursery is that its not your typical "baby" nursery or what you would think of doing to your nursery. Seems a little bit more mature and more like an older childs room with the whole paradise concept however it seems more homely. It doesnt look fake or just for show, I sense a lot of love and homemade creativity that was put into that nursery. Very different, very cute.

Pic of the day

"Whenever I held my newborn baby in my arms, I used to think that what I said and did to him could have an influence not only on him but on all whom he met, not only for a day or a month or a year, but for all eternity - a very challenging and exciting thought for a mother."

Dr. visit

This lil sucker moves around so much. I was only able to tell through the second in depth ultrasound and it was hard for my doctor to tell gender or position my baby because it just kept moving around. It always had its hands over its face "no pictures mom" lol. Heres the second ultrasound pic where you can actually see more of my baby's characteristics:

The hand is above the head and my doctor typed in "hi mommy" in the pic [i accidentally cropped it off]. So adorable! But as of lately ive felt movements! =) Not a whole lot, mostly when i sleep and lay on my side at night. Its refreshing to know its alive and healthy. When your first pregnant and even after i gained my most weight at my first trimester it hadnt registered yet that there was a baby inside me. Its still a little hard to believe. Only when i feel it kick am i able to fathom the idea. As of right now its like i have this growing belly, i feel bloated lol. I have my next monthly check up and ultrasound to confirm the gender this thursday [the 11th]. Im very excited because all shopping and decorating have been put to the side until im able to be notified 100% certain that the baby is indeed a girl. Baby girl names are gonna be so hard for me. I already had the boys name picked out and everything. Maybe cuz boys are just easier, idk. Well Gnight loves, lets see if i can fall asleep.....

Pic of the day

"We never dreamed you'd be so beautiful...
In all of the times we tried to imagine
every last detail of who you would be,
thru all of the nights we spent quietly thinking
of how we would feel
when we first looked at you,
we patiently waited
and silently wondered.
We hoped and we prayed
and we tried to imagine...
but we never dreamed you'd be so beautiful."

Advice of the day: Girdle

Waist compression: wear a girdle
Who wants to have a saggy tummy after birth =/ NOT I! I was told wearing a postpartum girdle holds the tummy muscles and tissue so it goes back to the way it was. Instead of walking around with a floppy belly, the girdle helps train your stomach to stay flat. Its not really been proven for weight loss but to help get rid of the sag. Of course proper exercise will aid in the rest. Wear a girdle, doesnt hurt to try!

Month 5: sore feet

Being on your feet working 8 hours a day while 5 months pregnant is no joke. Soaking my feet when i get home is becoming a habit as of late. Ghetto style in a huge pot of hot water, lol. I aint too proud.....

Advice of the day: breast feeding

Weight Loss: Breast feeding
Most women who are pregnant cant wait to shed the baby weight. Ive been told that breast feeding helps! Women who dont have a harder time shedding that little bit of extra weight. Breastfeeding can help you lose your pregnancy weight because you naturally burn calories to make breast milk every time you nurse. Hey, anything helps!

Baby projects: Baby clothes

Since i love to sew, and my parents bought me a new sewing machine for christmas that i need to put to use, i hit up the fabric store with moms to pick out baby patterns. My mom used to sew a lot back in the day so i relied on her expertise for guidance. For starters, i found two things i wanted to work on; Baby booties [cloth shoes] and the other package came with baby dresses, wrap around blanket, wrap up towel-robe, lil bloomers, etc. And i found two fabrics to start with as well; hello kitty print and shimmering butterflies. Cute lil starters to get me going. Baby is gonna be FITTED when she pops out, thanks to mommy ;]

Setting up the nursery

The family and I are turning our extra bedroom into a nursery. Im so excited to start decorating. Ive always been interested in interior design; actually, what am i NOT interested in, lol! I want the baby's room to be sophisticated with a touch of baby persona. After all, IM gonna be the one in that room all the time as well. After getting my second in depth ultrasound we recieved a 90% confirmation that the baby is gonna be a girl. So going off of that, ive decided to use the traditional color pink as a bases for the room's theme. I know i could do/find more with pink plus im a very traditional type of person ;] Here is an idea for what im going for:

...and we all went to home depot to pick out paints.

Sooooo many colors to choose from! aaaaah.
Ive decided on doing the wall either all beige [because beige is a perfect base color for pinks or blues] or two tone of beige and pink. The main colors of the room for decoration [blankets, quilts, bedding, pillows, curtains, etc] are a light and dark pink combo. Here are the color swatches i decided on:

-Pink Heather [the darker pink]
-Sweet baby girl [the lighter pink]
-clay bisque [the beige]
...the furniture is gonna be dark chocolate. And i was out a Ross a couple weeks ago and saw these cute dark chocolate organizers.

First thing i thought of was i could use them to store all my baby's essentials like diapers, and what not. Sooooo, i finally copped them today(=

...Im really excited to start piecing together the whole room, BUT im not gonna pick out any of the pink colored decorations yet until i find out Feb. 11th on my next ultrasound at 20wks if my baby is 100% without a doubt a BABY GIRL! So for now im only buying the dark chocolate furniture.

Baby's First Ultrasound

I was so excited and nervous to see my baby for the first time. I was just hoping everything was okay health wise. Got all my blood work done, papsmear, measurements, etc. I gained almost 10 pounds my gosh! My family came with me to be a part of the experience. Im so thankful for their unconditional love and support! Dad wants a boy, of course. Me personally, i could care less as long as its healthy. I was 16 wks at this time:

Dear baby, the Dr. said you are healthy and stubborn! Open those legs so we can see what you are ;]

As of yet, we dont know..... [in the ultrasound, the baby is facing down]

Baby projects: SCRAPBOOKING

Been writing in a baby journal/scrapbook for all my babys keepsakes. When he/she gets older they can look back on all my thoughts and memories of my pregnancy with them. You know you ask your parents from time to time, "So what foods did you crave while you were pregnant with me?, When did you first feel me kick, what was it like?" etc.... Well here you go love, everything you need to know and more. Im all about keepsakes and memories. Ive been saving pictures, ultrasounds, dr. appointment slips, etc. Such a wonderful experience, might i add ;]

New Chapter

So as i talked about in a previous entry, there is some amazing news i have to share but when im actually ready ill allow these enteries to be viewable to the public......

Hello world, Cassandra Marie Longoria Mouirguies is pregnant!

Yes, i am [picture taken at beginning of 4th month]. But what i must add first and foremost is that this is great news, im excited and i have the blessings of my parents and friends and coworkers/managers who are here for me as well. This is the only thing anybody needs to know! To assume this is bad news or that i must be in a difficult situation or feeling sorry for me is rude and unnecessary! Im at a wonderful age in my life [24] young enough, yet old enough...i already finished school with my degree[not an obstacle to worry about], i have a stable job [not an obstacle to worry about] and i have a wonderful family who is here for mental support, [roof over my head and my own car]. Any and everything else i still need to conquer can still be conquered. Im a very strong person, i can do ALL thru christ who strengthens me!!! This baby will be my life, but i can still pursue my dreams and accomplish many things. There is nothing that we as human beings cant do, we only limit ourselves to not achieve what we want in life.

Inspirational story: My step dad raised 3 kids on his own at the age of 25, WHILE going to school, WHILE working a full time job and as a single parent. My dad lives a successful life, he could have let those obstacles bring him down but he learned to make the most of it and his family turned out wonderfully.

My situation isnt as complicated, however i know its not gonna be easy [although as of late its been close to perfect] but im well equipt for whatever is thrown my way. Im raising this baby MY WAY. Im gonna give it everything i would have hoped for and trust me, it already has a lotta L-O-V-E.

We all love you baby. My little love.
xoxo, mommy
