A beautiful Friday

So yesterday, I went to work to visit friends and loved ones and unfortunately, because Audrey doesnt have all her shots [she gets them at 2 months], it was wise to keep her home. Everyone was asking for her, after all she went all 9 months surrounded by my coworkers who spoiled her with encouraging words and belly rubs. Its okay, mommy will bring her in another month.
I missed my boozer and spoiled her with lots of kisses/googly faces when I got home

Look at them little cheeks *said in country accent* ooweee. Here we go, the start of cheek pinching, lol

On another note, I lost another 10 pounds! Im 5 pounds away from my starting weight before I got pregnant and 20 pounds away from my target weight. All thanks to the Belly Bandit. Im keeping an update with pictures on this post.

Playtime= funtime

Throughout the day and sometimes at night when Audrey gets fussy, I whip out the playmat. At first she didnt really care for it, but now that shes starting to recognize and take interest in colors and contrasts, she really enjoys it now. She especially loves the mirror....shes so fascinated at what stares back at her. I prop her up on a boppy so she can see all her dangling toys.

Watching her play and laugh is just "too cute"

Grandpa appreciation

Audrey Loves her Grandpa
very much!
She's always so alert when he talks to her. It's as if shes trying to pay extra attention to what hes saying.

I think he just told her boys are icky! Yes my love, you'll learn that one day.

DIY; chain link glasses

Im a proud "working" mama, and im excited to start back working this Sunday. I dont want to be away from my little boozer, but i feel better knowing her grandma can watch her while im gone. I've been working on a few DIY projects since ill be stepping out a lot more often. I found some old pair of glasses, chain links and a hot glue gun laying around and remembered seeing these little beauties [Chanel sunglasses] worn by a couple celebs:

Its a very simple project to do!

So how did I make these?...

Im using gold chain on dark brown shades

Hot glue the top edge of the sunglasses

Attach the gold chain to the hot glue

Like so...

And this is what you get =)

...I saved myself $250

Happy 1 Month Audrey!

Today is Audrey's 1 month, and what  a better way to celebrate than with a shot from the doctor =/
Unfortunately she had her Dr.'s apt today as well and it was hard holding her and seeing her cry when she got her shot. No mother ever wants to see her baby in pain. But aside from the shot, her pediatrician said shes above average in everything except her height. She now weighs 9 pounds [good to know mommy's feeding her well] and her height is 20 inches. Next month she'll be getting FIVE shots...oh my. She did pretty good at the doctors, and all was well when she fell asleep peacefully in the car ride home. Little did she know, we had a little surprise for her ;]
Some BBQ w/the family and cake, just because.

HAPPY 1 MONTH MY LOVE

Heelarious.com

I stumbled across this cute site that sells soft 'heel-like' infant shoes. I think its a fab idea for your little one, what do you think?

Babys first high heels! Only $25

And now they have Baby's first credit card teether! Only $8

baby must haves: Car mirror

I've only had Audrey in the car once and let me tell you, Im so used to playing my music because I hate silence until I realized how will I hear if Audrey is choking or needs help. Better yet, not being able to see her just drives me crazy. I need to know at all times that she's okay. I've heard of a baby mirror you can put in your car that reflects her image through your rear view mirror so you can see your precious angel at all times. When she gets all her shots [which is tmrw, what a sad, sad day!] and im able to take her out, im definitely getting one of these!

F21 maternity line

Forever 21 launches its maternity line
"Love 21 Maternity"
I worked at Forever 21 and I love their "Love 21" brand. Love 21 is is a contemporary line at Forever 21 that has a more motherly, sophisticated look. I loved buying from Love 21 because it targeted an older crowd, with more mature and fashionable pieces. I'm disappointed in hearing from this link that F21 targets a younger crowd and that some people might not think a maternity line is acceptable for that age group. From my working experience, I beg to differ. F21 is such a huge brand, it is shopped by all types of people! F21 has expanded so much that they now cater to men [21 MEN], plus size [FAITH], sophisticated/older women [Love 21], and even children [HTG 81 KIDS]. So no, F21 does not just cater to a younger demographic, at least that isnt what their aim is. I was asked all the time if we sold maternity clothes and unfortunately at that time we didnt and had to guide pregnant OLDER women to our plus size section =/ I love shopping F21 and when I was pregnant thats all I wore. People asked me all the time where I got my clothes and in all honesty I just bought a larger size, but found that Love 21 catered to my body more. Im so excited that F21 now has maternity clothes and above all, within my favorite line "Love 21."
...I know they chose that line because like i said, it caters more to an older crowd which clearly goes against critics who say its gonna cater to youngsters and put out the wrong image. I think people should do their research before jumping to conclusions. Not just an ordinary girls store like Charlotte Russe or Wet Seal, F21 is the "go-to" store for any and everything you could possibly need. Celebs wear it, stylists use it and people from all walks of life can shop it.....and now Mothers-to-be ;]

Breastfeeding help: supply & demand

So i've been curious as to what helps with milk production. Sometimes when I pump I can get 4 oz, but most times I only get 2 or less. Its been a little bit frustrating for me so I did some research. Besides "supply and demand" [the more your baby feeds/you pump, the more milk you produce because it tells your body you need more. Here are a few more helpful tips:

  1. Drink lots of fluids! -water
  2. Have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning [i've also heard breastfeeding early morning produces more].
  3. Have a little glass of beer.
  4. Beer, but not ethanol, has been reported in a number of studies to stimulate prolactin levels and breastmilk production. Thus is it presumed that the polysaccharide from barley may be the prolactin-stimulating component of beer. Non-alcoholic beer is equally effective.
  5. Mothers milk tea
  6. Organic Mother’s Milk® promotes healthy lactation* and is traditionally used to increase breast milk production.* This traditional combination of anise, fennel and coriander has been used for centuries by European women, often recommended by lactation counselors and medical herbalists.
  7. Fenugreek seeds.
  8. Fenugreek seeds contain hormone precursors that increase milk supply. Scientists do not know for sure how this happens. Some believe it is possible because breasts are modified sweat glands, and fenugreek stimulates sweat production. It has been found that fenugreek can increase a nursing mother's milk supply within 24 to 72 hours after first taking the herb.

I will try all of these and let you know how it works ;]

Audrey at 3 weeks

My BOO-ZER!

My dear little Audrey Leigh officially 3 weeks old as of yesterday. Im so mesmerized by her fascination with the littlest things. I mean, who else could stare at plush toys rotating in a circle for minutes on end. She's almost close to grabbing at them! I cant wait until she can interact and play on her own.

LOL! her faces, I tell you are my most favorite thing about her. If you're having a bad day or are lacking sleep these will cheer you up instantly! I cant stop smiling and giggling. Now I know why grandparents pinch those little cheeks.

She loves mommy's arms ;]

And she also got her first pair of Jordans, thanks to the mister ;]  Im starting to think purple is gonna be her favorite color. Now mommy has to buy a matching pair.

Audrey, there is a special someone in my life who
loves you dearly. I know you'll love him too.
