Pacifier etiquette

My little Audrey used to try to put her pacifier in her mouth, to no success. Yesterday I set her down, without her pacifier, and next thing you know I look back at her and its in her mouth! Mommy is proud of you Audrey for learning how to put your pacifier in your mouth the correct way. So as I was unwrapping and putting together her new toy, I had to sit down and watch for myself.

she puts her pacifier to her mouth, playing/chewing on it backwards

pulls it away & plays with it a bit

puts it back to her mouth, recognizing that its backwards...

...flips it around to the front

VOILA!
That is Audrey's proper pacifier etiquette ;]

Audrey Leigh's 6 month

I look back on Audrey's earliest months and im so amazed at how far she's come! I used to get updates about Audrey's growth and the things she should be doing week by week and she was doing a lot of things way before she was suppose to, but little things here and there she still hasnt done yet and I really had to remind myself that all babies are different and its okay- they move at their own pace. Some babies take their time, some babies skip milestones and jump to new ones. Im a first time mommy and everything is still new to me, but I know that Audrey  is doing so well and im enjoying each and every one of her milestones...one little step at a time(=

With all of that being said, Audrey has been up to a lot lately!

My baby girl is able to stand on all of her weight now!!

...with a hand close by of course.

She doesnt move, just learning to hold her weight, while leaning on something

She puts everything, and I mean everything in her mouth!

She is actually able to put individual objects into her mouth with accuracy.

...which akes teething on things much more enjoyable. No frustration.

She focuses on people or objects with such intent. Pays very good attention!

She still loves playing with her feet

My FAVORITE thing that i noticed shes been doing for a week now is mimic mommies facial expressions!! She is now learning to mimic. Sounds as well. I make this face a lot, unbeknown to me, and it cracks me up every time I see her do it. Its very random and without purpose! She has developed such a personality I love watching her just to see it!

She loves to play with herself in the mirror. I think she thinks
its another baby. She does get a kick out of it! I would love
to see her interact with other babies. Playdates in the future ;]

Audrey is still a little screamer at times. She does so because she
can and I still believe she's experimenting with all the new sounds
she can make with her little voice.

During feedings, Audrey opens her mouth on her own BEFORE
you even get the food to her mouth. Its her way of letting us know
she's hungry and she is starting to enjoy all foods now. She swallows very
well, and im just impressed at how well she eats compared to a few weeks ago!

Audrey now has to be bathed in her tub IN a tub because she splashes too much!

We got her new bath toys because she loves to play in her tub.
I remember not too long ago we would lay her down on the
slope [to the right] but now she sits up in her tub. Before you
know it she'll be a little swimmer!

BASICS:
-Audrey wears a size 3 diaper
-Drinks 6 ounces of formula every 4-5 hours, eats
a whole can of baby food before each formula feeding
-Wears 6-9 month baby clothes, but isnt quite fitting bottoms
as they are a little tight around her tummy.
-She still goes down for sleep around 8 and wakes at 7
-Our morning ritual is to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, she
loves it! Always smiles so big when the intro, toodles and hot dog
dance come on!
-She entertains herself a lot more these days which makes getting
things done a lot easier. I was waiting for that to roll along
-She still hates tummy time-no rolling or crawling just yet

Christmas Day

MERRY CHRISTMAS!- xoxo Audrey Leigh

As morning peeked through my window all was quiet. My sleeping beauty, surprisingly, was not awake at her usual hour [7am]. I was expecting an early rise, anticipating watching her little eyes light up when seeing all the things she got for Christmas. Nope, of all days when mommy is wide awake and ready to go Audrey is fast asleep. She didnt end up waking until 8am [I wish she did that more often] and I just cuddled with her in my bed. My favorite part of every morning is when she first opens her eyes and smiles so big at me. It is as if she missed me so much while she was asleep ;] We peeked inside our stockings first. Audrey got her favorite- Minnie Mouse! At first I wasnt sure how Audrey would go at her presents, but as usual Audrey is one smart cookie! She went after her presents, with just a little helping tear, and after pulling at the paper she was more interested with putting it in her mouth, lol. I was just as thrilled with unwrapping her gifts and seeing her interact with all her new toys. She received a lot of fundamental learning toys to help with her milestones. In all, Christmas was a beautiful first experience, not only for Audrey but for me as a mother. I hope that Audrey loves this holiday just as much as her mommy.

Now time for pics....

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas<3
