Work appreciation

It's such a beautiful thing to receive such appreciation from someone during the holidays. My career involves helping others on a daily basis. My job is so fulfilling and I truly enjoy the interaction I get to have with the people I work with. I received the sweetest card and gifts from someone I was working closely with and helped find an awesome job for. Tis' the season to touch lives.

Holiday creativity

I decided to make this light up canvas for the holidays. It was an easy project and such a beautiful sight to see at night.

The supplies you'll need:
1. blank canvas
2. Silver and red sharpies
3. dollar store lights
4. scissors to poke holes into canvas
5. Glue Gun and Sticks

 1. Place lights strategically into the canvas, from behind, and mark them

2. Poke holes with scissors, use the holes as markers to draw your snowflakes

3. Write whatever you want-LOVE, HOPE, FAMILY-in the center of the canvas and color in. You can also use paint.
4. Sick lights through the holes and use the glue gun to glue them in place (because they will fall out).

Talking to Santa

We took Audrey and her baby cousins to go see Santa this year. This picture is hilarious! We could not get Jaxson to smile what-so-ever! He is so attached to his daddy right now I already knew he wasn't going to like sitting on Santa's lap. Baby Teegan was holding Santa's hair, and Audrey of course was all smiles. My big girl! I love her so much! The special moment of it all was when my dad brought her elf-ShyLeigh to talk to Santa. Audrey was so amazed by it all....how did ShyLeigh get there? She definitely bought into it all and it is safe to say ShyLeigh has, and will, continue to be a big hit in our household! She's magical ;)

Santa talking to ShyLeigh. He was such a good sport to play along with it all.

Christmas Lights

Every year we go to see lights at Sapphire in Rancho. I'm not all to impressed anymore, you don't see people out and about as the City has cracked down on certain things you can and cannot do. They use to sell Hot Chocolate and food, you would see lots of people out in their driveways roasting by fire pits. It's still crowded though and a little much considering I like to pause and enjoy the scenery. I felt like I was rushed going from house to house. The lights are always beautiful but I just may have had enough.

Beginning to look like Christmas

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We were a little late putting up lights but now that they are up I am definitely more in the spirit. We have lots of Christmas trees up around the house. A Dallas Cowboys tree in the Man Cave, Audrey has a tree in her room and I have a tree outside on my balcony. I'm like obsessed with lights and Christmas trees. I think that is why I love the night life so much is because the lights at night are so beautiful to me. Weird, I know.

Christmas pictures

Over the weekend we decided to take Christmas pictures for the Holiday. December in California is not what you would think. The weather was perfect!-nice and sunny but not too hot and not too chilly. It felt a little weird to take Christmas pictures with such a beautiful, sunny background. My love was such a good sport, I know most men would probably gag at the thought of taking pictures in a group family setting but he is definitely a rare breed ;) I decided to be innovative and instead of paying for a professional picture, do it ourselves! We even used a tablet camera (on a timer) and snapped the shot ourselves. I absolutely love the pictures.... they melt my heart. We ordered cards online with a really festive background. I cant wait to get them sent out to family. Happy Holidays!

Introducing Elf on the shelf

So this year I have decided to introduce the Elf on the Shelf to Audrey. I feel she is the perfect age to really understand the magic behind it. The elf comes with a book that you need to read to your little one in order for them to understand it's purpose. The book talks about naming the elf, how you cant touch it , why it doesn't talk, that it watched you throughout the day to see if you're naughty or nice and leaves at night to report to Santa.

Audrey's elf was delivered to her from the North Pole.
Audrey named her: ShyLeigh

ShyLeigh was taped up by toys!
ShyLeigh was coloring with barbie
Uh-Oh, ShyLeigh had way too much fun taping up Audrey's room
Look at ShyLeigh teaching the dolls etiquette!
ShyLeigh loves to play with toothpaste!
ShyLeigh has our coffee ready ;)
Oh no, don't fall in ShyLeigh!
ShyLeigh shows us you don't need snow to make snow angels!

Vegas family fun

Thanksgiving weekend I had the pleasure of heading to Vegas to visit my boyfriend's family. It's so nice to just go and relax, not really get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Vegas strip. I've had my fair share of the Vegas night life while in college. His family is so welcoming and easy going. I'm so appreciative: Hanging out with family, watching football, going out to eat. I was definitely a spoiled girl that weekend!
