For the past 3 weeks Audrey has been sleeping through the night. At first I was scared because I was still thinking she needed to be fed every 2-3 hours. She goes up to 8 hours of uninterupted sleep at night. I learned that this was okay because when she's hungry she'll let me know, I don't need to wake her. For a while now she has been feeding on one breast per sitting, not both anymore and she goes longer than 2 hours for feedings most the time when mommy is at work. She can now distinguish between night (sleepy time) and day (play time) because when the lights go off ar night around 8-10pm she stays asleep. Of course ill hear her moving around, but she doesn't fuss anymore as she will fall right back to sleep. She knows its sleepy time. During the day her naps are shorter, must be tough for grandma. One thing ive learned is that grandma can put her to sleep easily but can't keep her to sleep that long, and I have a harder time getting her to sleep (because all she does is smell milk when I hold her, lol...I'm the food supply) but when I get her to sleep I can keep her sleeping longer. Another thing ive noticed is that Audrey has been showing signs of a sickness...runny nose and warm. But then I notices she's been drooling like crazy and won't keep her hands out of her mouth, her pacifier isn't enough for her at the moment. Well low And behold, she's TEETHING! Teething causes sickness symptoms. Every baby is different and can teeth early or late, however teeth may not actually pop up for another few months. Babies can, in essence, teeth for a very long time before their teeth show. These are very hard times for moms because the baby is very irritable, fussy, doesn't sleep much and cries a lot from pain. I got to experience that for the first time last night and tonight, as Audrey was extremely fussy and wouldn't go to sleep. Her pacifier was in and out of her mouth, she just wasn't interested in it only her hands and blanky. No sleep, work all day....lets just say me and Audrey are not happy campers right now. All I can do is love on her and hold her more than ever. She needs and wants mommy's comfort and even after a long day at work I still have plenty love to give.
These are just a few things that have been going on lately. Ill update on teething and what ive been doing to help her with that in the next post. But for right now I finally put Audrey to be.
MUST.......NEED........SLEEP!
