Week 38 update

Hello my loves, today was my Dr.'s apt. and I was a little nervous because I have a new MALE doctor now. My original doctor is out of the country on vacation until mid July. Even though I was nervous, I was actually pleased to be seeing a male doctor because ive heard wonderful things about them and how caring and sensitive they are with you. Today I only gained 1 pound from last week, which is really good. My doctor measured my belly to get an estimate of how much Audrey might weigh. He believes 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 pounds. What I loved about him from the start is that after he told me that, he without hesitation told me even though shes a little big I should get an epidural and wont have to worry about the pain. Just what I wanted to hear! Straight forward, truth and to the point. He then checked Audrey's heartbeat, perfectly normal. He wanted to make sure for himself that she was head down so I got an ultrasound and right away he noticed she was head down and ready. From here on out shes not repositioning herself anymore. He wants to check to see how thin my cervix is [really important in speeding up this labor process] and how dilated i am next week. Im very excited and while talking to the nurses I was advised to keep walking. Walking helps speed the process. At this point, I dont care how uncomfortable [hot and bothered] I am, i need to push myself to take 2 rounds of walking a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. This laziness is trying to get the best of me. Here I am at 38 weeks.

Im also very excited because Audrey's grandparents bought a gliding chair for her room. It was the missing piece to the puzzle and now her room feels complete. Sometimes I just sit and rock in the chair, imagining myself rocking her to sleep. Everything has just fallen perfectly into place since day one. Thank you Lord.
