The week after pill?

Im really shocked and a little baffled that the FDA wants to approve the "week after pill", also known as EllaOne in the United States. Surprisingly, even though the drug needs further study, its being used in 44 countries since 2009.  What I dont understand is why women need a time extension [more than 3 days] to take a pill to prevent pregnancy. Im trying to be understanding about the situation, but the first thing that comes to mind are those lazy women out there who dont have time or forget to take the morning after pill within 72 hours, as prescribed. I know plenty of girls who wait around until the last minute, "oh ill do it tmrw", etc. Deciding on whether or not you want to have a child isnt a game. If you made an honest mistake, handle your business.  Why you would need 5 days is beyond me. I do understand that there are exceptions to every rule and good reason for someone to need the 5 days, HOWEVER thats just a very small percentage. Next thing you know, a week wont be long enough and a new time extension will be brought to the table. When do we say, enough is enough. Wrap it up, get on REAL birth control or if all else fails take the pill THE MORNING AFTER. We have become a lazy nation, irresponsible citizens who pull out every excuse in the book. When you experience situations like this firsthand, it really opens your eyes and makes you think. Here I am, 9 months pregnant AFTER taking the morning after pill on the 2nd day. Yes, I took the morning after pill within the 72 hours as advised and I still got pregnant [Audrey was a blessing in disguise]. So speaking from experience, you cant always rely on things like this, and you SHOULDNT! Well, anyways this is just my opinion [im very opinionated as you will soon discover] but rightfully so. I consider myself a feminist so you would think im all for things like this. Being a STRONG, guided female I hate when the government tries to make us ladies look like idiots and brainwashes us into believing we need these things. We are very smart individuals. So with that said, the FDA can kiss my butt. Thanks.
