Christmas for Newborns

Audrey is still only considered a newborn, and I know this Christmas shes not old enough to understand what this special holiday is about...or even care about gifts for that matter. I'm trying to take that into consideration and not do things so big this time around. I really cant help myself ;] I figured, all the things I would normally buy Audrey, instead of just giving it to her now, im wrapping it. Her grandparents are going crazy with presents, but isnt that what grandparents are for? You'll never take the "spoiling" out of the grandparent. Its hard for me to not do every holiday for her as special as I can. I just want her first experience [yes, i consider this her first] to be the best! When you have a child, you always want them to have it better than you ever did. Not to say my childhood wasnt filled with very special moments, but its just an automatic thing you want for your little one.

So far, we took Audrey to see Santa. I was a little concerned about how she would react to him because shes known for crying hysterically with strangers, but to my amazement she did so well! Not one tear. She would stare up at him as if in total awe. Here are a couple pics:

We also had her pictures taken for Christmas and she did very well there as well. I tell ya, she is one well behaved little girl in public. No crying, no fussiness. I will be posting those pictures up soon. The outfit we chose for her was picked out months ago and instead of doing a fancy dress, shes still a newborn, so I went with a cute and comfy little outfit. There is still a little more shopping to do, but everything else is set for Christmas. I cant wait to do the gingerbread house [a new tradition since two years ago], and sip hot chocolate while riding around the neighborhood on Christmas eve looking at all the beautifully lit and decorated houses. Im making it a point to teach Audrey what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. Not only doing for others and being with/appreciating family, but Christ himself. What would CHRISTmas be without CHRIST? I remember my earliest memories were going to church and seeing little skits about the story of Christ's birth. I also remember singing Christian Christmas carols around the neighborhood. I remember we would decorate the house, not only with lights but right in the front yard for all to see was baby Jesus, Mary and the three wisemen nativity scene. Those were the days....

I just cant wait until Audrey gets a little older so we can really go all out for the holidays!
