Packing for the hospital

Its almost that time. Child birth is never predictable, most are late and some are early. I like to be prepared because you just never know! My worst fear is to be caught off guard, being rushed to the hospital with none of my things. Im preparing myself 4 weeks early and to be quite honest thats still pretty late. Here is my checklist for what im packing for the hospital [you need two bags, one you are allowed to bring up for delivery after you've settled into your room and another for after delivery that you leave in your car until your moved to your postpartum suite and you may bring it up then]

1. Labor and delivery bag
[ ] Comfort items for labor-birth ball, music, heat sack, massage sack, magazines, ipod, lotion
[ ] chapstick
[ ] Band for long hair, comb, hair clips
[ ]  extra pillows
[ ]  camera, laptop-chargers
[ ]  warm socks
[ ]  Birth plan and completed birth certificate form
[ ] cell phone and charger

2. After delivery bag
[ ]  Comfy pj's
[ ] Light robe
[ ]  Underwear
[ ] towel and wash cloths
[ ] Toiletries: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo/conditioner
[ ] Makeup bag
[ ] hand sanitizer
[ ] nursing bra
[ ]  clothes to wear home
[ ]  Outfits for baby- jammies and for portrait, hand mittens for scratching
[ ]  baby blankets
[ ]  plastic bags to put dirty clothes in
[ ]  an extra bag for free baby stuff from the hospital -pacifiers, nasal aspirator, diapers, wipes
[ ] boppy pillow
[ ] prenatal pills
[ ] nipple cream-for breastfeeding

Your delivery partner can bring their own things- blankets, pj's, an extra pair of clothes, etc.
